Inter-School Transfers
Inter-School Transfer Policy
- Undergraduate students who wish to transfer from one school or college in the University to another within the University must have an inter-school transfer form approved by the Dean's office of both schools. A return to the original school must be approved in the same way.
- Approval of an inter-school transfer is usually contingent upon satisfactory performance in the original school. If you are on an academic probation at the end of the current quarter, this probation may continue in your new school.
- The inter-school procedure is not final until the end-of-quarter grades from the current quarter and any findings of academic dishonesty have been reviewed.
- Consult the Class Schedule or Academic Calendar for appropriate dates to process an application for inter-school transfer.
Inter-School Transfer Steps
- Review the dates for inter-school transfers as stated in the calendar of the quarterly class schedule.
- Complete the Application for Undergraduate Inter-School Transfer (pdf) and attach a copy of your unofficial transcript printed from CAESAR.
- Secure the signature from the staff of the Dean of the school in which you are currently enrolled.
- Arrange an interview with the Dean of the proposed school and leave the inter-school transfer application form and unofficial transcript with the staff of that Dean.
- You will be notified of the decision on this application. If approved, the transfer becomes effective at the beginning of your next registration.
- The form will then be forwarded to the Office of the Registrar. A decision letter will be sent from the Office of the registrar.
For additional information and requirements for each school/college regarding inter-school transfer, please contact the school/college into which you wish to transfer.
