Import Calendar

Sync the Northwestern University Academic Calendar to your personal calendar.

@u.northwestern.edu Calendars

Import Academic Calendar into Google calendar

Non-@u.northwestern.edu Google users can subscribe to the Academic Calendar in Google calendar using these instructions:

  1. Download the iCalendar import file.
  2. Follow the instructions under "Step 2: Import event into Google Calendar".

Outlook calendar

Import into your Outlook Web Access calendar

  1. Log into Outlook Web Application (OWA) and go to the Calendar Module.
  2. Right click on My Calendars.
  3. Select Add Calendar.
  4. In the add calendar dialog, click on the radio button for calendar from the internet and paste into the calendar URL field (omit quotes):"https://planitpurple.northwestern.edu/feed/ical/1426"
  5. Select OK.
  6. It will take a minute or so to import and sync.
  7. Look under "Other Calendars" and rename it to NU Academic Calendar.

Import into your Mac Outlook client

  1. Download the Northwestern University Academic Calendar import file (.ics).
  2. In Outlook for Mac, at the bottom of the navigation pane, click on Calendar.
  3. In the Finder, locate the .ics file, and drag the .ics file to the Outlook Calendar grid or list.

Import into your Windows Outlook client

  1. Download the Northwestern University Academic Calendar import file (.ics).
  2. In Outlook for windows, at the bottom of the navigation pane, click Calendar.
  3. Choose File > Open > Import.
  4. In the Import and Export Wizard in the Choose an action to perform dialog choose Import an iCalendar (.ics) or vCalendar file (.vcs).
  5. Click Next >.
  6. Browse for the 1426.ics file you downloaded, select it and click OK.
  7. In the "Do you want to open this calendar as a new calendar or import its items into your calendar?" dialog, choose whichever one you prefer.
